Agree to a certain extent, having admired the MX5 since they first came out and knowing a bit about what its like to own a car like this, the MX5 is:

1. A drivers car (whether male or female driver).

2. For people who are set on an image (mainly females).

Unfortunately the second category is where convertibles don't last long in ownership when they are found to be not really cool on a hot day, noisy because of the traffic around them, and too small and impractical. Thus they tend to change ownership fairly frequently.

And if you are driving one, make sure you don't pull up next to a cattle truck!!
