I hate to say it but Toyota have got my interest in this. Would love to see the Focus or Fiesta with something like this in it...

If only they did this in a Camry TRD style car.... That would nearly win me over altogether.

Camry TRD style car? Really?
This kind of hybrid tech is a revelation for performance cars. Porsche 918 for example. The performance car future is bright. |

a 313kw Camry?? I'd like too see that as sad as that sounds. Toyota needs more stuff like this in there range. It would help the white goods on wheels image. In saying that there not bad cars thou. just a tad boring

Oh ye I know what you are saying even the Hybrids now look basic and boring but they're very effective with there fuel efficiency.... That's why I reckon a TRD sport model would sell well by getting the sport car buyers interested.

I didn't mind the previous generation camry, thought they looked ok. This new one though, just so goddamn ugly. And boring. And ugly. 2000kw generated from thin air in a camry wouldn't get me interested in one.

The thing is with this new Hybrid stuff is that the batteries themselves will get better and be able to travel further distances and be able to withstand deeper cycles as the technology improves.... So eventually i'm sure we will see engineless Camry's that you just plug in at night when home to recharge. The potential is enourmos..

Really? Had the misfortune of driving a rental camry as nothing else was available, and it was a torque steering, body rolling pig. The yaris was more fun to drive, had a firm and taut ride, steered well but was underpowered and 110 on the freeway felt like 160kph in a larger car.
