Model Comparisons
Is it right that the new F series would be equivalent to the following models? Considering from ED-BF, in general: XT = Gli, Gl, Forte G6 = Futura, Sapphire, Classic G6E = Fairmont G6E TURBO = Fairmont Ghia, for EF-EL with tickford 6 or v8) XR6 = XR6 N/A, tickford optioned 6 XR6 TURBO = XR8 N/A, tickford optioned 8 |

Not to sure on the G6 one, as that would be just a Fairmont. Remember, they dropped the Futura come the F series

G6E is equivalent to the Fairmont Ghia not the Fairmont .G6 is the Fairmont.
G6E Turbo is the "V8" version of the Ghia...

So what is the actual difference between a FG G6 and a FG G6E?
So going of what I know with EF EL's Fairmont & Fairmont Ghia's G6 has cloth interior G6 has normal plastic interior handles G6 has standard 6 GS has Single Spin 3.23 diff G6E has leather interior G6E has chrome interior plastic handles G6E has a higher powered 6 G6E has LSD 3.45 diff So obviously I have no idea what the differences are as I ma just guessing So what is the actual differences?

However, the g6e turbo doesn't have an LSD. Also the XT, G6, G6E and XR6 (n/a) all have the same motor. Not 'higher powered' in anyway. |

Also thought the Sapphire and Classic's were special packs rather than a full model.

Yes, but I believe they were based on the Futura.

If you buy a G6E, you get these things standard to that of the G6:
There's probably more...

You saying a G6E gets an LSD? That would be interesting as a G6ET does not get an LSD...

I'd say XR6 is the equivelant of the old 90s S packs...no extra performance.
XR6 Turbo - tickford xr6 I seem to recall reading somewhere that the BA XR6 was never meant to be, was meant to only be Turbo and XR8.

Ok, hands up if you still remember when carpets, radios, bucket seats, and fans were still optional extras?
And you had a choice of 4 or more engines? |
