Default Ecoboost vs ecoLPI vs Turbo

We DO have an "interesting" array of engines available in the Falcon. Really can't fault FA for EFFORT in that regard.
(I am disappointed & surprised that they chose such a POS diesel for the Terri, didn't offer diesel in the Falcon, and puzzled that they didn't offer LPI or EB in the Terri, but that's another story.)
Considering the low volume of sales, it is a wonder they can still manage to offer such a choice.

I've long said that the LPI is a brilliant engine. Yet I've never seen it advertised and my understanding is that it accounts for only around 10% of sales. (If they'd offered it in a Terri, I'd be all over it.)

I personally didn't rate the EB4, but again the advertising has been either missing or pointless.

It's funny, that for all the talk about people not wanting fuel-guzzling 6's, the turbo accounts for around 25% of sales (not including the F6.) Maybe that just reflects that enthusiasts like the turbo, whilst mainstream buyer have abandoned the basic I6 in favour of juice boxes?
But if that is really the problem, you'd think that Ford advertised would have hammered the cost benefits of the LPI and EB4.
My bro has a G6E. He picked up a low km ex Ford demo for a song. Lovely car. (If only I could convince her indoors.)

i agree mate , we have been pretty lucky to have what we have, as for ford not pushing the advertising for the falcon, i think they are just not fussed to sell too many so at gate closing time there is less to to clean up when they close the door for the last time.

The only advertisements I have seen for Falcons, have all been Ecoboost ones. No FPVs, no XRs, no utes. Just EB.

Maybe I don't watch enough TV (hardly any)

There are a billion adds for all of the above on alternative media.......I've personally seen heaps as I'm on a bit. Ford did a lot of research on this topic but it's taking along time to filter down to some diehards and or the minority who dont use alternative media these days.

I'd love to see a poll on who even watches tv adds these days.....not me....not for many years now. Same with most I know.
Ford aren't stupid...as some think......but I'll agree they no doubt have their own ideas about falcon advertising. Maybe it's not even their call now...who knows!

"alternative media"? Is that a euphemism for gay porn?

I certainly don't. The beauty of a PVR is that you record your programs and watch them later and fast forward through all the ads. Many companies realise this and have reduce TV advertising, thus why the big networks (7, 9 & 10) and in financial troubles.

An XR6 Turbo EcoLPi would've been a sweet rig.

XR6 Turbo EcoLPi RTV ute (with Territory's AWD system) ... yeah that would've been nice.

I don't think the engine is the problem with the diesel Territory, its Ford's rather crappy programming of the ECU, there has already been some movement in the aftermarket area which has improved it heaps, some happy owners in the new Territory section whose factory cars spent some time on the Dyno.

I think the reason the LPI is so great, doesn't it run like 12.5:1 comp or something silly high like that?

A mate who works at a local Ford dealership said out of the little amount of Falcons that get sold from there, most are LPIs.
