I own a 2008 BF11 1 tonner ute, and unfortunatly the transmission cooler failed [as they do, "milkshaked"] and coolant/oil mixed, well you all know the rest.
I got a quote, "around" $3000 for a proper job, i am ONLY interested in a proper job with genuine parts, the vehicle is perhaps worth $10k..OUCH! My vehicle is 3 years/63,000km OUTSIDE of warranty, but the team at Bayfords [i did NOT buy the Falcon from them!] went in to bat for me. Ford Motor Company AUS. [God bless'em] said they would replace it under warranty, all that i would need to pay for was the ATF fluid, i think i need to play a Tatts ticket, my lucky day! No short cuts either, you NEVER get that from Bayfords, they replaced a whole heap of things, a page full of parts have been replaced, makes sense now why its ~ $3000 They also washed my car, and delivered it back to me Bayfords are God when it comes to knowing Aussie Falcons, it makes sense, Ford Dealer of the year 5 times! TOP effort Ford and Bayfords, many thanks!! |

Thanks for sharing this, too often people are quick to rubbish a brand or business so its good to hear a positive outcome.

Why would you have to pay for the ATF if its a warranty job?

Bayford are a bunch of thieves and there service department at Epping are a joke
That's been my experience over the years you must be on the payroll from Hugh Bayford. If your talking about the recently acquired bundoora dealership then that's a different story the service guys are from the previous owner Sterling Ford which are good with a good head mechanic Ash. |

I came here to post a positive about a dealership experience i had, if any other Ford dealership handled the matter in the same way i am sure that the result would have been the same. Do NOT work for Bayfords but am happy with the result i got from them. Cheers |

Lets get one thing straight, it was NOT done as warranty but as "PR", they know of this tranny-cooler issue [google] and decide on a case by case basis if they will pay for a replacement/partial or not My lucky day My vehicle is in tip top condition, FULL SERVICE HISTORY, looks like a 1 year old and just 1 owner. Thanks to Ford of AUS [they paid for it] and Bayfords for doing a fair report for FoA on my vehicle, and of course a top job! Cheers Last edited by 8200; 27-08-2014 at 08:41 AM. |

I did NOT buy my vehicle from them, but a group of shysters in Essendon [now closed, funny that] Bayfords even fixed a warranty issue that the selling dealer was not able to fix after many goes. I have no problem in recommending Bayford Coburg, very professional, know the Ford product, good coffee machine too If they do any work they quote first, they get it right first go, organise to deliver my vehicle to my office, and a lift after drop off They *may* be more expensive than others [most likely not] but my dad taught me early on, "in life you get what you pay for" pay peanuts you get monkeys and "good is not cheap, cheap is not good" Sorry if you had a bad experience with them, but mine have been A1 Cheers |

Did you have full Ford service history ? This goes a long way in getting Ford to come to the party with a goodwill request.

Warranty is black-n-white, if its a GENUINE issue they need top fix it, unfortunatly we still dont have lemon laws so a new car replacement seems unlikely Did you see this guy with a JEEP Cherokee on facebook, going to crush and destroy his vehicle as he has had a gut full of it: https://www.facebook.com/destroymyjeep If you are going "by the book" then mine is NOT really warranty, the period for warranty is well expired. Done more as a "PR" and to keep re-train dealers in doing gearbox replacements me think, like practice work maybe? I have had Fords, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi Warranty issues with ALL of them [small items] the only brand that broke my balls was NISSAN, all the others never gave me a ounce of problems Then again, the crank-angle sender unit failed outside of warranty in my X Trail, cost me $350? to fix, i bitched to NISSAN and they sent me a cheque for $180, better than nothing i suppose Once again VERY happy with my outcome, both FoA and Bayfords Cheers |

Mine only has the 3000km inspection stamp in the book from the dealership, then it only went back for warranty issues, and to be honest If I didn't have to use them for warranty I wouldn't have either. |

He is now VERY busy as picked up a airport vehicle contract so wont take on any new work, but wont say no to us thankfully. Only a few services where done by Ford dealers, [the guys at Essendon, the selling dealer where useless] every other service was done by the book, on time, with Ford genuine filters etc [as per my request] by either Bayfords or my mechanic mentioned above. But you are correct, if my service books where not up to scratch, would have made my case very weak. Cheers |

CRC number approved in docket so taking things as written, good on Bayfords and stiff to those who jumped down this blokes throat with rude and condescending remarks.
By the way, my diff on the GT is being replaced OUT OF WARRANTY. Left the leak being looked at for too long, warranty lagged as I DO NOT get the car serviced at Ford. First time back in 2 years or more. Took it in just because of leaky diff and new diff on order with CRC approval ..... out of warranty. NOW ..... someone above who jumped in with crap comments .... tell me I am lying as well?

Ford do NOT given away free gearboxes "to keep re-train dealers in doing gearbox replacements."
IF Ford are now covering these heat-exchangers upto 6 years, that's fantastic news.

My personal experience with Bayford in Coburg has been good so far.
Although most times I think if we have the right attitude then that helps. |

In case the image of the Job Details is lost over time.
The reference details should be keep in the likelihood somewhere down the line others members may wish to use this as a precedent to help get a goodwill replacement if their cars suffer the same faith. Quote:

For being a cynical old ***. I can confirm that this is 100% legitimate. Ford are very vague about when where and how they will cover this, but they did in this case and will consider such requests on a case by case basis. I am pestering Ford to give more concrete guidelines, good luck with that eh.
