Test drives and insurance questions we don't see a reason for. Not a good outcome. Warning some scenes will be disturbing |

Reading the story its a typical yank car it saw a corner and promptly steered into a tree now if it was a left hand corner might have had a chance........

^^^ LOL ^^^
But ya gotta' say, the engineer who designed the road needs a pat on the back ....or a bullet,(depending on your point of view), because that corner is perfectly designed for maximum carnage and destruction. A blind, off camber, right hander right just when the car goes lite on the crest of a rise , lined with trees on the outside at the critical point of the corner, just begging to be slammed into.

The American Muscle Cars has always loved the straight roads. They just don't like going around corners to well.

Yankee cars can go around corners okay, its the typical American driver that struggles with the bends.

No front-end and it still looks tuff. First things first though. Better hose those seats out.

Alot of people say that. I have driven my cousins 1998 (15+ year old) Dodge viper and it sticks to the road way better than many people realise. Certainly better than any ford I have driven.

So who was the driver?
Wasn't Jessi Lang form the motor Trend gang was it?....jeez I'd laugh if it was! Check out this gal behind the wheel of a Hellcat. She reminds me of a scared bunny rabbit in headlights. http://youtu.be/Tck3jgaZlhE I laughed when I saw Mike race off in Blesphemi & he's looking around for the opposition...all cool like, & then we see Jess in the Hellcat lookin' like she just filled her jocks up!!! |

A bit of youthful exuberance....... these things happen, going too fast on a road built for a 1/4 the speed probably.

Over 700 HP. A chassis designed to oversteer slightly , a twitchy right foot combined with a false sense of security.....voila......hellcat in hell.
Lucky he escaped without serious injury . |

These sort of cars crashing so early after release are the sort of things that bought about the supercar scare we had in the early 70s in Australia. |

The little bloke from Top Gear had a massive prang once. Not like too many cared, just wanted to see it.

Whoa...nice "safe" piece of road that...a small bunch of trees left right on the corner in the exact spot where someone would run off if something went wrong...well planned...
Yank cars handle OK...certainly a hell of a lot better than they used to...even the Impala LTZ we rented, an upper model of an ordinary family four door, handled pretty damn well. I got to admit I was surprised. I'm just waiting to see what a Hellcat sells for when someone gets around to converting them for RHD (because, you know, we can't be trusted with LHD new cars). $70,000 in the USA, probably up near $160,000 here. I'd still have one though... |
