I went to the dealer the other day and tried out the new Mondeo for size. There was a Trend Ecoboost hatch there. It's noticeably smaller than a Falcon inside, and rear headroom is somewhat compromised, but it's also noticeably better built and has a more premium feel. It leaves everything else in the Ford range for dead as far as fit and finish and interior build quality is concerned.

That's top of the line Diesel Titanium, and its a big car.
cheaper than a Territory or the Mazda 6 equivalent.

I seen my 1’st new Mondeo wagon on the road yesterday, the main thing I noticed was that grille/mouth and then the length of the thing, it seemed very long.

Titanium not available until August...Thanks for your inquiry about the all-new Mondeo, . We are currently ramping up the launch of the vehicle from Spain, where the Mondeo is built. However this has meant a staggered launch for some models, including the Mondeo Titanium. Regards, FordService ^JW

How does the servicing stack up, $ 355 for a capped minor service ? does that sound like a lot or is that the norm these days ?
Also capped price, does that cover wearing parts like brake pads/rotors/clutch/wiper blades/timing belt if applicable,DPI , etc, etc ? It is good to see they put a standard slush box in it. |

Minor service is just an oil change

Just buy genuine filters, buy oil that meets specs and take it to your trusted local mechanic, thats what I was doing for both my Fiesta and Focus when they were under warranty. |

but capped price does sound like they are saying that's all you are going to pay, still for a minor service it still sounds fairly pricey to me. Maybe I'm missing something ? |

I think the whole term "capped price" is misleading.
The definition of it can also vary between manufacturers. In essence though I guess it is supposed to mean that the dealers can not charge any more than that for the standard book service, meaning consistency of pricing wherever you take it. FWIW I just had the minor service on my previous model Mondeo a couple of months ago @ $335. Almost $200 was labour. Parts included oil, oil filter, pollen filter, drain plug, w/screen washer fluid and "enviro charges" So not a lot of things changed but a heap of things "checked" and "inspected". It had a stiff rear door which I didn't tell them about and when I got it back it was all sorted so its good to know that they actually checked it. They also went to a lot of trouble balancing my wheels, even rotating a couple of them on the rims as I had complained about a shimmy at highway speeds. Even though it's not part of the service they did not charge me extra for that. You also get the 12 months RACQ membership on the car with the service so I don't have to pay for that separately any more. Metro Ford are just down the street from my work so I am more than happy to keep going to them while it's still under factory warranty. They are the best dealership I have ever dealt with.

Sounds like they are doing the alright by you Binny, you don`t mind paying if the service is good.
