Looks like Germany might not necessarily be the manufacturing location after all? |

They should really retire the Commodore name just like Falcon.

Spits on the Commodore name really. I'm glad Ford didn't try to carry on the Falcon name onto some piece of FWD garbage.
Territory on the other hand may continue on, but it's not exactly an old name plate, 11 years. |

Not sure what the point of that article is? It's trying to paint some great mystery when there isn't one.
It waffles on about the Insignia coming from Germany, and how it wouldn't feature a basic V6, when fact the same car is made in China. Not really hard to join the dots. Just confirms what we have known for a while. They'll rave on about how it's "German Engineered," but it will be made in China. The VN Commode was a hastily thrown together pig-sty of a butchered Opel body, with an obsolete Buick engine on running gear from the previous (much narrower) model. Yet Holden buyers flocked to it like flies to a ****, and proclaimed it the best thing since ripple-soled DB's. Really, if they can get away with flogging Daewoo's as Holden's then they don't have much to worry about.

I never thought it would be a German engineered car. I certainly never thought it would be German built. Imagine if it was though, would be the best Commodore ever.
Mercedes Benz and BMW do it better any way. |

Why don't they put a commodore badge on the cruze? It's had just as many recalls and holden only need to tell us it's the new commodore and the sheep will buy one thinking they have the best car ever built.

I think the next Commodore and Cruze were to share a lot of structural components, before the second wave of the ATS was denied by the "Productivity( lol) Commission".
I think Epsillon II will probably share parts with Delta or D2Xx or whatever the new Cruze/Astra platform's called..: |

We were in at the Ford dealer at the weekend getting the wife's eco-sport cleaned, and we were looking for what I might replace the BA with, when I saw this the latest Falcon and said this is a bit of me. However as I walked down the side of the car and got to he rear quarter something didn't look right, WTF it was a f@#ken Mondeo!! Yes side by side they look very different but I think because of the size I just assumed it was a Falcon, they have grown quite large. It was an ecoboost, which I have the 1.0 version in the fiesta sport, and was impressed that it reminded me of the 4.0 in the Coon. As much as I hate to admit it the new Mondeo as a daily driver with ecoboost might be temping. But I don't see what Holden have that they could just slip in the range like the Mondeo. At least we know the Mondeo (warts and all) and with no Camaro I don't know what they are going to do. Were lucky we have the Mustang. I love the Falcon and I thought I'd just get et an fg x and drive it to the day I die, but now...

They're doing a lot of market research so maybe, just maybe they can pull it off. I doubt any SS customers will come back though; they'll probably be forced to consider Mustang... |

If they make a FWD car they should not call it a Commodore.
And get rid of the Holden name as well, if they don't make a car hear. |

I don't think any big FWD car will sell well in Australia. |
