I had an XF on gas. Bought it at 205,000 and sold it at 315,000 klms. Never put a spanner to the engine....I was waiting for the valves to burn out on it but never happened. I saw it just before xmas and it has 335,000 on it now....
It had digital dahs electical problems which caused the temp gauge to go into the red every now and again. It didn't have a thermostat when I bought it and I never put one in it. I suspected that running cold could have helped it as it wasn't being stressed by 'warm up - cool down' cycles. Never leaked oil either...great car....miss it a little |

In regards to starting there's a few things that need to be checked. Is your's dual fuel or factory dedicated???

cool ... wasn't sure.
Could be a number of things when it comes to hard starting ... especially when it's a duel fuel setup.
