Default an unexpected phonecall!

Well, Im sitting in a hotel room in Wagga when I get a call from Ron Burns, president of the Ford car club of Dubbo.......my phone used to belong to Ian Parnell who was well involved in the Cobra car club; someone here might know him.

I work for Yamaha as did ian so its a bit of a coincidence that I should also have a love for not only all things Ford-based but in particular, the XC's.

It turns out that Ron bought the XC coupe convertible that was advertised on ebay and a thread was started on it here by Neek from memory entitled "feeling brave?"

Ron also owns the FPVGT "Ghost something or other" that was recently in FPM.

Needless to say, we had a very interesting conversation and I am awaiting an email regarding a fundraiser in Dubbo-details to come when i know....
He did not know about FFAU so I said that I would help him out by posting the info when he sends it to me.

He also has the coupe/convertible back up for sale having taken what he needed for himself. Apparently, its an XB with XC front metal fitted, rust-free and on the market minus box and motor.

I have not seen this car but if anyone is interested, PM me and I'll pass on your details when I receive the email.

Someone on this forum probably knows him anyway!

I think that it would be good to have the Dubbo car club aware of the forum at the very least.

He told me about $1500. If its rust-free and what you want, seems fairly reasonable to me. I know that he has at least 1 351 clevo, a toploader and loads of XC parts too.

I was interested in the car. I have been speaking to him about it. H ebought it on ebay for $2000. It had 351 clevo, fmx, interior and rolling shell, rust free ect. I called him, he wants 3k has taken the engine and box and giving a toploader. Interesting. I will call him about this and also to organise our club display for the car show at Dubbo at the end of the year.

He also mentioned that in the barn where the coupe was lay an XC Fairmont in reasonable nick- the owner is in the states purchasing a Mustang but the sedan Fairmont can be had for about $1000- no motor or box though.....it'd want to be mickey mouse in that case!
