David Alexander of Silverwater Automotive Services (SAS).
With his laptop plugged into the Ford ECU, David can alter the onboard volumetric efficiency calculations, set the target air-fuel ratio, alter MAP sensor and injector calibration (which makes injector swaps relatively easy), change open-loop switchover and alter the complex torque control strategy.....etc etc (extract form a magazine i can't remember) have had a mate's BA turbo done, with excelent results. maybe this is something for you too look into?? |

The first run I did with it was with gas and CAI as mods.
141rwhp/105rwkw. Now, how in the blue hell can a set of extractors, a new exhaust, a Crow cam and a Unichip only net me 15rwkw on petrol?

the Unichip isnt there for peak power man, its for over-all driveability.. picking up in peakpower is a bonus.
15rwkw from a cam and chip is actually quite respectable, its what I would hope for. |

I know that stiddy.
How about extractors and exhaust? Hmm... There's no way that is a restriction, the standard Ford extractors are ИИИИ.

the exhaust cant take full advantage of its ability to remove gasses. Your intake (mixer ring) is now the issue. The exhaust is not being utilised 100% yet as the intake is the restriction. Remove or reduce the restriction and it will improve.

Reducing the mixer ring I'm not too sure on. I'd have to talk to Tibbo about that, he knows about my gas system. EDIT - Actually, I remembered something I read here about reducing mixer ring sizes and basically it had something to do with vacuum in that making the mixer ring smaller lessened the vacuum and made the car almost impossible to run on gas. Casper, you just want me to get rid of the gas, don't you? :P

Have also seen net gains from getting the intake plenum extrude honed ... polishes the interior of the plenum while boring it out slightly too ... NICE. Kenny I also noticed a difference doing a test changing the pipe over between the airbox and throttle body ... standard and aftermarket (still keeping the factory mixer ring) ... there was a difference of 5rwkw by doing this as well.
