Dont mean to be rude but the Car assembly plant 'was/still is' in Broadmeadows on the Hume Highway.
Geelong was the engine assembly plant. (about 1.5hrs from Broady down the Western Ring Road on the way to the famous Bells Beach/Torquay) And I reckon the FGX design looks great......but they should have made a wagon also? |

I really enjoyed your video. I like how you put it together and I like your conclusions. I think that it's a beaut FGX you've finished up with. Got to be honest that when I first saw pictures of the FGX in 2014 I hated the back end especially and the front end looked too commercially Ford generic if that makes any sense. Now though , my opinion has totally changed . As much as I love my Mk1 FG XR6 I really love the look of an FGX. I'd be extremely happy to buy one some day. A few weeks ago I was parked next to one when I returned to my car and side by side you get a great perspective . They drive nice (gotta love the dear ol' 4.0 Barra), the ZF is a beaut tranny , they dress up a treat , don't cost the earth and are a real looker. Understated but classy I think. The only sad thing is that in ourarea they're as rare as hens teeth. .I posted this in another thread but at our recent Car Show there were at least 10 new Mustangs but only one FGX but it was a Sprint though. This one Thanks for the story so far, Cheers Rod. Last edited by roddy1960; 17-06-2017 at 09:04 AM. |

Hi Roddy,
Thanks and I also think the fg mk1 xr6 looks good too. A number of people on this forum have gone for the fgx xr8's and the sprints and when I see one drive past I go, yeagh wow, how good is that .. I was on the freeway early last Saturday and a kinetic blue xr8 cruised past, and it just looked the goods ... And a car I missed out on driving and always has me curious is the Eco boost ... Ross
