I'm still watching the driverless bus trial. It had an interesting hic-up recently.
After being asked, again, to remove their safety signage and cones because it was freaking out the bus it lightly side swiped a road workers truck...
So what does a driverless bus do in case of an accident?
It just recalculates and keeps driving, lol!
Its not like it had to do a runner because its uninsured, its owned by the RAC.

If done right, and one day it will, there will be no one to blame because there will be no problems.

If done right there will be no need for traffic lights or stop signs, in theory no congestion because each vehicle knows what every other vehicle is doing.

Most older trucks are built to last a million + miles.
A lot of smaller trucking companies are rebuilding their older rigs to bring them to standards of minimum requirement meaning they're looking for ways to delete computer controlled engines.
In the US 'gliders" are still a popular choice to get on the road. Gliders are new cab/chassis and front suspensions, its up to the company / O.O to fit a rebuilt drivertrain usually of the non ECM variety.

I reckon it will be a while to convince smaller companies this is good for them.

I can't wait for the 60% unemployment rate.
I have read that over 40% of American jobs can be replaced with some sort of AI within 10 years.
So once all those people are out of work the sales and service industries who still employee real workers will have to start laying everyone off since no one will have any disposable income to spend.
At least companies will be able to maximize profits.

I hope you all love socialism, because it will be that or mass poverty.
