yes I'm not upto date with the ford family..

The ute and panel van carried through xg, xh and xhII. And the xf versions ran for a lot of years. There was no new ute until the au came out, so essentially no e series ute, they just fitted e series bits like the engine etc to the xf platform.

There goes all the car shows then if this unlikely scenario was to ever take place . One of the great joys of going to a local car show is to admire the beautiful work in caring and maintaining their lovely old classic , whilst drooling over a few newey's at the show.

I was just going through some old pics I'd backed up from phones over the years, and they had a similar article in 2008, wanting all cars without ABS & airbags banned.

Never happened then, won't happen now.

Lots of very safe cars that are over 80 and even 100 years old on the road that have never been in an accident.

As pointed out in earlier posts, I think they need to look more at the demographic, not the cars.

The NSW RMS have put a lot of work into the Historic & Classic vehicle rego schemes in the last 3 years too - old cars aren't going anywhere.

that there aren’t massive numbers of older vehicles out there

I would love to see how they would do this with trucks.
Most of my fleet are 25 year old + cabovers big and small, the only difference to the cab/chassis over the years with smaller trucks are the engines, cabin construction has always been the same ie not much to warrant an ANCAP crumple zone unless you want to add a bulbar into the equation.

Yeah burnz, last XF vans were built in March 1993.

Sorry commodorenutt via my warped sense of humour but perhaps you could have put ' old cars will be going everywhere ' but you are right hopefully because I am a big fan of older ,simpler cars .
