Default AU Series 3 XR8, rear brake lights

Guys,

Can someone tell me which fuse is the Brake Lights, currently both brake lights and the centre rear screen brake light not working. I will try the easy option first. Or globes are OK. AU Series 3 XR8.

Cheers

Do you have a towbar?

Sometimes the wiring on the socket for the trailer plug can create problems?

Hi. Use a test light to check each side of the switch on the brake pedal, its a common failure point. Cheers MD

Yes I do, I will check that tomorrow. Now that I have looked into further, it may be the brake like switch, I will try the ED switch on the AU, I think they are all interchangeable.

Cheers

If your car is fitted with a boot mounted spoiler check the wiring harness that runs along the boot hinge as this is a common pinch point where the wires break. This happened to me

Guys,

What’s the go with these brake light switches once you take them off it’s like they won’t go back on, what’s the trick?

Cheers

Worked it out, I had to pop off the brake booster leaver, put the sleeve through and then the switch. Bingo, it was the switch that was faulty, working fine. $20.00 from Bursons, good comparison to Original.

Thanks fellas
