Looks horn mate, absolutely love the look of them. Kinda good that you did the other rims in, just make sure it doesnt happen to these ones, but they are probably alot tougher that the ford ones.

Yeah I read that thread too Simon, it was probably a dud batch, and many of those guys were talking about BA XRs, which have more power and weight than we do. In any case, you've got a warranty so you'll be fine.

No one on this thread mentioned the cracks though, Casper in particular would have probably known about it, he likes to do research and I doubt he'd have them on his car or spare drag rims if they were bad.

George

BTW how would you go about lowering with what your insurance company said? LOL!

Post How Low?

How low should i go? I don't want to be scraping the car on every single little bump, i do realise i have to go slow over bumps etc when she is lowered, i go slow over them now anyway!

A few questions.....

1) What should i use to lower the car?
2) Where should i take it to get it done?

Cheers

Most insurance companies wont let you lower more than 30mm, so check that first.

If this proves ok, King Lows in the front and Super lows in the rear. Probably need a camber kit also, and new shocks.

Interesting, might have to get that checked out on mine, I had always thought there was no adjustment in the factory kit at all.

MFT = manufacturer = Ford???
XR height - even seen an XR? That height. LOL. It's approx 25 to 35mm lower than standard, depending on what series, and year AU you have. Basically, you will end up with about 30mm between top of tyre and guard, instead of the standard 60mm gap. It is the same height as King Lows. Superlows take another 10 to 15mm off, and SSLs are another 10 or so. You will not need shocks if you go XR height. You may if you go superlows (though I have superlows on mine with standard shocks), but you WILL need new shocks for SSLs - 10mm makes a big difference, basically SSL ends up at an extra inch over (under) XR height, so it's not just 10mm or so.

AU S1 dint have the best brakes. You might as well upgrade the brakes and suspension all together. Save on labour costs.
