Rice is about modifications that arent really necessary. I dont see whats unnecessary about the gear with the XR or Phoon

If i see a Typhoon or an XR6T getting around with neon lights... then it is ricer...

A turbo doesn't make a car Rice... You can have turbo V8s

Firstly, as Ford fans, we should all celebrate the brilliant cars being produced by the Blue oval, whether they are blown sixes (or fives now for that matter!), the Territory, the XR8 or the GT. Awesome machines that cater for all tastes.

I normally find, however, that most people who call my car a ricer are Holden V8 drivers who get upset that a blown 6 can own their @rse down the quarter. Throw in superior suspension, chassis, gearbox and rolling accelleration and there's not too much to crow about if you've just spent 70 gorillas on a Clubsport R8.

XR6T & Typhoon Ricers?

No.

Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. (R.I.C.E.)Parts put on cars to make them look fast, when they have no internal tuning, and are actually slow as hell. Parts usually consist of excessivley angular bodykits, large rear spoilers, neon, sponsor stickers, chrome rims, fake "coffee can" exhaust tips, and loud, annoying paint jobs and/or vynils. Sometimes parts are do-it-yourself installed and are basically duct taped to the car. Most commonly known for being done to Honda Civics, but can also be done to slow domestic vehicles, such as a Chevy Cavalier, etc.

Not all japanese cars are rice, although it would seem like it considering the amount of younger males whom own these cars and have 5" duel exhausts, jap writing and shoppinglists down the sides

I live in a small town (around 3k people) and I know of only 4 japanese cars in the area, all of them are riced up and owned by 19-25 year olds.

Its amusing when you see them with their bonnets open with their friends, you walk past and its all stock.

I vote to shoot the poster of this thread.
