Wondering if they were told to park out judging by the painted ref points on the road, maybe some digging to commerce shortly.

I'd be sorta thinking the same, council works. Maybe that strip wasnt re finished due to parked cars or something along those lines and people actually listned to the councils request. Listening to the council is probably doubtful.

I parked my car right against the kerb, because I could.

Some sort of local protest?
We had a housing development put in on our short cut road around the lake in my old suburb. The newbies then started parking in a similar manner to protest the locals using their road as a thoroughfare

I would imagine if some road works were to happen then where is the safety barriers, hats etc? that should have been erected before work starts.

Must admit this photo is a bit of a mystery with parking.

Hi. Maybe the barriers were there when they parked their cars and were removed after work finished at night. Cheers MD

No. The cars are parked in the right place, there is a bike path against the kerb and a buffer strip between the bike path and the cars. Resurfacing has removed the painted markings for the buffer strip but you can see it in google maps ( https://www.google.com/maps/@-37.833...er=0&entry=ttu ). Cheers again MD
