Hi,
I have a 1992 capri, 1600 twin overhead cam, auto. The gearbox needs replacing, are there any cross over models that have the same gbox? Laser? Mazda? Thanks Brian |

So is this an XR2 and is in NA or the turbo? I suspect it's probably the 1.6 L B6D DOHC engine so it will have the Mazda 4EAT but probably built by Ford where it was called the F-4EAT. It was used in a lot of models but in terms of those sold in Australia:
1991–1996 Ford Laser (AUS & NZ) 1993–1997 Ford Probe 1991–1994 Mercury / Ford Capri 1990–1994 Mazda 323 1992–1995 Mazda MX-3 1999–2001 Mazda MPV 2.5 Duratec (not-3.0 Duratec) 2007–2012 Ford Escape (ZC, ZD series, 2.3 L Duratec) 2000–2005 Kia Rio There may be differences in mounting points for external controls on the non Ford ones so they would be a better choice.
