YouTube small “surgery” channels:

“Procedure performed by a qualified professional in medical premises. Don’t try this at home.”

…Then:

“Link to my Amazon store in the description; you can buy the same tools as used here. Online courses also available now.”

It’s easier to deal with it when you realise the vast majority of people lack commonsense and any form of self awareness.
Most obvious when driving, shopping or transiting through airports. Having high expectations of other people in these situations is unrealistic.
So when someone you come across show those traits it’s a nice surprise.

Why, the slower someone drives the harder they hog the centre line.
In this case 20kmh under the posted limit.

Therein lies a big chunk of the problem, some people have just never been told that they're an absolute bloody idiot, and have then gone through life thinking that theres nothing wrong....

Its another type of participation trophy!

I worked for that sort for nearly 20 years. People who were brought up to be so self-confident that it leads to massive hubris, as if selling pots of dirt with a stick in them was so important.

At the risk of sounding like an old fart....

Why is it That the younger generation seem to be incapable of putting A & B together and accepting that C is the natural outcome?

Customer got a fairly decent defect list after going to a well known holiday spot on a public holiday long weekend, enough of a list that they grounded his pusslux and told him not to drive it untill the defects were cleared.

IE: swaybars missing, 4" lift, oversized & protruding tyres, heavily tinted taillights, etc.

Customer whinged about having his weekend ruined by "the pigs"

Customer fronted up wanting the defect list cleared, agreed to all the work needed, but balked about having to get another set of wheels & tyres, so I asked if any of his mates had a set of stock sized wheels & tyres he could borrow long enough to get it inspected.

Customer: Hell no, stock is ******* boring.....

Dude... it might be boring, but you just drove 650km just to get defected, a long weekend on the beach without your rig and a 650km tilt tray home.... surely your ego can take enough of a hit to make your rig *legal* so the cops & transport dont make bets about how many defects they can get you for? Or at least dont make the bloody thing stand out?

Also.... if you're going to persist in running a rig with blatantly illegal mods, how about NOT taking it where the cops & transport know that they can get their career quota of defects issued in one weekend because every idiot will be there? I mean, sheesh, its why robbers rob banks..... thats where the money is!

Not disagreeing with your assessment here, guy sounds quite dim, but I wouldn't say this a generational thing, rather an age thing. There will always be an element of silliness from guys/girls at that age.

The funny thing is, back when I was that age, it was heavily lowered and straight-piped Falcon's and Commodores that would have been at centre of attention. Now? Its jacked up Thai specials or old Nissan Patrol's on noisy mud plugger tyres garnering the wrong kind of attention. Different strokes, same folks.

No doubt, but we also knew why the cops were always looking at us!

Perhaps they thought modifying a 4WD wouldn't get pinged for noise or being too low compared to a sedan?

If anything, a lifted 4WD with woeful tyres and all that weight mounted up high via those steel roof racks, spare tyres and recovery boards is way more dangerous than a lowered Falcadore ever was. As far as I'm concerned, well done to the cops for taking one of these death traps off the road.

What amazes me is how many of them get around with all that crap tacked on 365 days of the year.... I mean, is their commute to work really that bad?

Yeah, I've wondered the same. I'd suggest it comes down to laziness, why take it all off when you only have to put it all back................just leave it there. I'd say there is an element of d.ck swinging about it too.

Going back a couple of years, one of the boss's was looking for a dual cab pickup of some kind, tax time write-off in other words.

So, what did they buy? A used Toyota Hilux SR with about 90,000 km on the clock, and because of the Toyota tax, it wasn't cheap either. The one they chose had a massive steel bull bar, steel roof rack, steel side steps, steel front brush bars, a steel tray with ladder racks, a tow bar, front winch and steel wheels with massive mud-terrain tires. Completely overkill for what he uses it for, not to mention being very heavy and very cumbersome to drive. Actually, a previous or current generation Ranger would drive rings around the current Hilux.

Pretty soon after buying the thing, he was complaining how thirsty the Hilux was. He assumed because it had a diesel engine, it would be as efficient as his diesel Mazda CX5. I was like, no wonder, it's all that steel hanging off the thing, and those mud tires............................. as a chronic tight ar.e, he seemed very deflated.

If pressuring liquid raises its boiling point, then why is it that we put a lid on a pot when we boil water?

Feels faster.
And less mess when you have forgotten you were in the kitchen boiling water

As I understand it, your trying to BRING IT to the BOIL, not raise the boiling point.. and by having the lid on (i think) it will in fact do this quicker.

Why don't you do a Doctor Karl experiment and post back your results and what steps you took to get those said results..

If you don't... maybe I will

Holds more heat for a quicker boil, but its not under pressure... even before it reaches the boil, it starts to escape.
