I thought the redback was nearly one of the ugliest cars you could by for 375,000 bucks. I wouldnt get one.

I certainly wouldn't that car back because of its looks. Shame they didn't tell us about the chassis or anything like that. I reckon it would be an absolute weapon!

In all honesty...... It's 2006!
........A "supercar" with a push-rod 350 Chev?

I saw it at the Adeliade motor show.... Wasn't really impressed with the finish either.

well even though it is ugly as sin, expensive as hell and uses an "old tech" engine, hats off to him, i hope it is successful for him.

Was worried about the 1" thick pipe frames hanging on the wall of his workshop. Would be a real p1ss weak chassis if that were them.

It looked ALOT like a Ultima GTR, but cost twice as much.
I guess you cannot expect a propper evaluation of a car on a gadget show.

If you had to spend money like that on a car wouldn't you just buy a ferrari?
Definately much better resale value on the italian.

I just fail to see a real big market for them when there are less expensive and more credible exotics out there.

Yeah .. makes me laugh to hear about these "supercars" which are basically just a re-hash of the old "big engine in light body" .. i.e Yanky MuscleCar .. e.g '64 Pontiac GTO. If we weren't so used to having so much craap in our average cars bumping up the weight, most of them would be "supercars" too ..

Beyond Tomorrow is CRAP CRAP CRAP. Did anyone see last week when that asian chick did the report on the old american Muscle cars. She got a test ride in a Cobra and QUOTE: I Can't believe an old car has this much power - bwahahaha. This show also now does reports on tech and gadgets that are already on the market.

A better story would have been the 2006 Aston Martin DBS!

These babies aren't cheap.

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Diners, Amex and large brown paper bags of cash.

The Redback is sold as a fully built turn key car (ie. no kits). As a starting point, around $AU 250K should get you into one (provided you own your own road)

At this stage the Redback is not road registerable (however we are planning to have the full compliance work done in the future). The Redback is an ideal car for club days or events on controlled roads.

Of course $AU 250K covers just the basic configuration of a 900Kg, 450HP Chev LS1, 6 speed manually shifted grunter, giving a paltry 0 to 100Kmh in a whisker over 3 seconds.

If you would like titanium glove box door, moon rock door handles or a WW2 Spitfire V12 engine then the price might climb just a bit.

remember the words spyder and supercar and i for one dont like its looks but the AU ford was the ugliest ford ever built yet we have the T series which i absolutely love,so each to their own i reckon and BTW 4 secs to 100 and 320KMH anyone wanna tell me for 300K thats quite impressive really for a supercar ;)

Its outragously expensive. You could pick up a dozen kit cars for less than half the price full built and road registered.

Then you have things like Nobles and Atoms that would completely destroy it on a track. Look better, are cheaper, more economical, more fun etc.

Chev powered, bah!. If I was building a 250k car I would start with two I6 heads and get a block made up.. *8.0L V12 rant*... and wouldn't be happy with less than 500kw naturally asperated.

If your going to make a car atleast make it special and unique. That car is purely a styling effort, and even that its pretty weak.
