well we've finaly managed to bolt the recoed bottom end in ,its just had a hone and been reringed with new bearings . it was bit of a crap fight but its done now.its feels a lot better to drive especialy down low it has a lot more torque.i can't wait to break it in and give it a flogging again.
i fitted a daiken /exedy sport tuff clutch kit while we were at it .its supposed to handle a bit more abuse than there HD kit.i must say it feels sweet ,the pedal is lighter than the stock clutch and it has a lot more bite.
all in all i'm very happy with it.

thanks guys ,once its broke in i'l get a retune and then i'l head back to my favorite place to see how well its realy going.
the old bottom end was lucky to hang together .it had that much carbon / oil built up on the pistons and valves it was crazy. you could see where the oil had been blowin up past the rings.the scary thing was the nice little dents the exhaust valves left in the pistons

but its all good now so far so good its done a whole 250k and nothin's gone bang yet but i'm still waiting.nah i've been behaving myself.

lol , the v8 in my old XE was like that after running straight gas , I had to chisel the carbon buildup off the top off the pistons for starters before cleaning them up ! , and my valve seats and valves had that much carbon buildup on them too that none off the valves were even close to fully closing ! . That was after a few years of the straight gas setup though / and most parts internal has been changed to stainless to prevent this problem happening / well it was supposed to help ! . When all was cleaned and rebuilt it hammered again no worries though ;) .
