Default AU Gas engine ( green top) power output/info???

Hi,

I am able to get an AU2 gas engine (with the green rocker cover)

I would like to know how different they are to a petrol engine A( yes I know they have a gas setup)
But are they interally different to a petrol engine???

As I would like to put this engine in a boat and put petrol back thru it,

Any info would be great

Thanks in advance

I dont actualy know about any differences to internals, but I would assume hardened valves/seats on any gas engine.

But out of curiosity, why would you be after a factory gas engine if your looking to run it on petrol??

They had much higher compression too.. 10.7:1 iirc

For petrol you would be better off sourcing a non Gas unit.

Hi,

Thats for the input guys,

I wanted it to run on petrol for the ease of getting petrol while out in a boat,

And I am looking at doing some work to it, like putting throttle bodies, maybe webbers ( yes I know they cost big $$$, but to get power and to be different), and a mild cam in it

You'd be better of going a V8 for a boat IMHO.

The EGAS engine only put out about 135fwkw from factory.
Pistons and rods were stronger with the higher compression ratio as well.

Put an AU XR6 cam into it and you'll most likely make more than the 164kw the XR6 makes due to it having a much higher compression, maby 170-175kw, you'll be running on PULP always though
