When in higher gears, and around 80k, Im hearing a sound like something is rubbing against one of the wheels. I know I have a slow leaking axel seal I have to fix. Could this noise be the diff running out of oil? If so, How long till It causes problems. I drive the car all day everyday and plan to get it fixed on the weekend. thanks...

could also be a front wheel bearing, i'm pretty sure others have described similar sounds to that, but i'd still get the rear seal fixed asap

To replace the seal you have to do the rear bearing anyway (well it all comes in the replacement kit from Ford ... mine did anyway) ... not a fun job getting the bloody thing off the axle either.
I am presuming you are getting some sort of roaring noise (usually either uneven tyre wear or wheel bearing noise). There was a good thread a little while ago on checking wheel bearings ... might have been a GK or Ronwest How-to.

Mine was leaking for a while (made a mess of the inside of my wheel).
I guess it is a case of luck really ... it might hold for a long time and just leak diff fluid ... mine did and I eventually got it replaced. I have the roaring noise at the moment ... but it's my tyres at the end of life ... I have had my front bearings cheaked out and they seem fine to me and my mechanic.
