Nah I didn't think so either, if it was painted, a bit slimmer looking and had the proper grills in etc... It might look alright.

Great way to advertise their business. Idiot could've at least painted it and thrown some rims on just for the photos, would make a heap of difference.

Was having a look at it yesterday, in the side shot the grille dosn't seem to sit right with the bonnet. It may just be me, but it just dosn't quit look right

In the side on shot the fit looks terrible especially where the grill meets the bonnet, not a good way to advertise your business & even if it was done well it would still look like the wrong front, no different to bogans in VK Commodores with HSV style kits.

New style kits on older cars can look ok if done right. There's an EL with a BF gt style front on it that looks hot. But with most of the VK's they just slap the newer kit on it and cut away any bits that get in the way

Speaking of AUbortion's, others in Geelong might have seen this as well. It's a Blue AU, Hawk Wing, big WHATEVER sticker on the rear windows, stickers on the sides, instead of getting proper altezzas had painted the outside edge of the original rear lights with a thick outline of silver paint, cut holes all through the bonnet plus a bunch of other things. I have a couple of dodgy mobile phone pics I'll post later.

i see quite a few AUbortions around

the other day, i saw an AU with XC vents grafted on the bonnet in a buldge type thing.

what's worse, that's about the 5th AU ive seen with XC vents. yuck.

i see an AU at blacktown often, with one of those supra front bars, s2 xr side skirts, t3 rear bar with altezza's hahah its silver.

not to mention the other ones with stupid blue vinyls and other atrocities.

i saw a white XR i think it had the rebel kit with blue cobra stripes over the top and "cobra" badging everywhere :

It looks crap on a stock AU.. if you put it on an au with a nice set of rims, and lowered a bit with the rest of a kit it'd look sweet. The curvy lines of the bar match the AU.

It's no worse than putting an XR front bar on a fairmont though mate... :

I quite like the cobra stripes on AU's Bucknaked's for example looks awesome!

I actually don't mind that bar, fitted properly, painted, with rims it'd look good...

That's the best looking AUbortion, as you put it, I've seen. Looks great. Good to see there are some choices now for the AUs.

Looks allright. You guys are being too critical. Maybe its a photo that was taken during the trial fit. He was too excited and had to take a photo to show his mates. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeh, who in their right mind would graft a VL rear end to a VX/Y/Z?

It looks OK though.
