$10??? That kind of blows. I just bought one of these last week for around $40 including freight. Thought it was a good price.

This was the one I did in my S1 wagon, had to change a few other bits. S2-3 is just the chrome bit that's needed.

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...5&postcount=27

The prices were correct at June 2006!

Cheers,

GK

there is no button for the adaptive shift thats the point no power econ it learns from your driving style. the cut out in the chrome but for the switch isn't there on the XR so the factory chrome wont work you would have a hole

If you want one to practice painting on, I'll give you my spare one. It's out of my fairmont so it's different to yours but it's only for practice so it doesn't matter. Let me know if you want it and I'll post it out to you.

Krissy.

Question

I reckon I may have missed the whole point here! LOL!

Which bit are we talking about? The chrome gear selector surround, or the plastic bit at the bottom of the selector stalk?

both bits have a cut out for the switch. it cuts into the chrome bit too about 1/2 the width of the switch

Ok, the kit from Bayford parts is for a series 1. I needed both those bits. S2-3 non adaptive shift autos would just need the chrome surround as listed in my "how to" thread.

Not sure of how to go about getting one for an XR though.

Sorry,

GK

his is a T Series setup which has the ESS button.

XR - no button
Every other model - ECON button

If you want a chrome one, the only way you'll get it is to paint it or have it chromed.

Or just fit the AU2 chrome upper and a forte lower, with the button fitted, but disconnected, and sanded so it doesn't have any writing on it. That's what I had in my XR8.
