Default RWC or no RWC falcon

Just got a BA ghia, so selling my 1996 EF futura classic.

Just put it through a roadworthy today and it failed on the following

Steering wheel need replacing
driving belt need replacing
front pads need replacing
exhaust need replacing

All in I reckon abouty $500 of repairs.

Question is do I do the replairs and seel with WRC or just sell without.

It has 220k on the clock, four new tyres, new rear pads, and runs well. the bodywork is average and interior good. Its rego'd till end of Feb 2008.

I was only wanting $2000 tops anyway so do I take the hit and sell without a WRC and see if I get $1500.

what do you think?

the exhaust has more holes in it than a cheese grater. It's blowing from about four places. It's been like that for a while but I've just lived with it. It needs replacing from CAT back. Quoted $298 supply and fit.

The cars just a work horse for me, does 120kms per day on the brisbane gateway.

well personally I would want a car with a roadworthy, try the wanted section see if you can get a cheap exhaust system or the parts section someone may be selling one.

$300 supply/fitted is an ok price but you should be able to do better ($250) for $300 thats a 2.5 inch redback : . you can get pads on egay for $30, serpentine belt is $30, so you could do that yourself (half hour job pads-belt), personnaly i would fix it, then get a roady that way when you sell it you can say : new exhaust/pads, rwc etc. you might get that little bit more for it.

Sound advice guys,

Specuate to accumulate!!!

So before I go shopping, where is the best place to get an exhaust fro under $300 in the brisbane metro area.

Guess, pads and belt will just be a supercheap special.

I'd try selling without first - I don't think you'll make much extra by roadworthying it.

If it was roadworthiedd then I'd say it would be worth around $2500.

EF's on ebay go for over 3 grand and have more K's than that.

On this site however, You see EA fairmont ghia's go for $500.

Just sell without a roady, answer any questions the buyer might have, let them know anything you're aware of that might not pass (most people have no idea how much stuff isnt roadworthy on their cars, I know I dont, so there's probably not much you could tell). Selling cars with 'dodgy' RWCs is stupid, dangerous, and illegal!

Thanks for the good and not so good advice,

New exhaust, drive belt and brake pads now fitted. Only steering wheel to go before I get it's legal roadworthy.

Then it'll be up for sale if anyone's interested in it.
