Default "Cool Police Cars"

Just saw this on YouTube. There are some awesome cop cars around the world.. Nice to see Australian Cars amongst them.
Victorians, there's a 300C among the fleet??
Not surprised to see Japanese Police with R34s.

They are some pretty cool cars, although i think the blue BMW M3 is actually a "race car" from te Players Run or Gumball rally in the US

The 300C was a promo thing, finished ages ago. All the 'novelty' ones in Vic are provided for free or cheap and on a temporary basis.

In QLD we have Typhoons as Highway Patrol and had a fleet of 6.0L Monaros at one stage too.

Heres a couple of ST's from the UK and I think the other is dutch. I have heard that Aussie Police are now stocking these cars in their fleets

You can also find police cars by state

http://www.auspolcars.info/

I don't kno how uptodate this is. I suspect its a few years without any updates.

Looks like a lot of the NSW unmarked are going from XR8s/GTs to F6s. Theres a thread somewhere else about it.

Heaps of cars there were promo cars, the RX8 was a promo car for a video game, also had the Mustang from Transformers.

Around sydney be careful of numerous F6 typhoons (from APEC) and Lotus Elise.

Be very careful around Bankstown.

Onethinks if Police departments really need F6 typhoons as cop cars and whether something like a XT V8 would suffice?

Do the police need F6 rather than XTs, maybe not - should that matter No, Should they have F6s instead absolutely! And TTGs. Like saying the German cops shouldn't have AMGs and Porsches - ridiculous of course they should.

A police officer is far more likely to require the extra handling, comfort and performance of a Typhoon that the average motorist, not to mention the better braking ability and passive and active safety. They should have whatever quality equipment best enables them to do the job safely and effectively. Though maybe a XR6T with DSC would be technically safer than a typhoon without.

On the subject of Cool cop cars, the black and white Melbourne Chrysler 300C looks awesome.

It's just that you hear all the time the fact that Police funding is stretched to the limit etc. but they are driving around in top of the line sports sedans when a "police pack" XT would/could do the same job.

Although, no doubt they would have to get a good fleet deal from Ford, so it's probably a moot point.

Victoria Police also had a Saab 9000 at the snow, I think Mount Hotham. Very early 1990's.

I don't believe it was a 'novely' one per se.

Just to add to the 'budget' comments above. I agree, fair enough they have V8's etc (which rarely engage in pursuits these days anyway). However you see many Police cars sitting idle at a Station. At least one or two vehicles will sit there for a day or two without being started. Moonee Ponds & St Kilda stations are good examples of this.

I think all the Vic. cars are bought with no stamp duty applicable and when sold are at full whack, so there is a profit made whatever the vehicle is.

German Police have Tech-Art Porsche 911 Carrera S's.
Italian Police have a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Texas Narcotics Unit have a nitrous injected Camaro Z28 LS1 with 775hp that can do 9's and patrols the highways.

The yellow Monaro in the vid has actually got personalised plates on it as well. Used to encounter it at the bottom of the Westgate in the wee hours of the morning on the way back from working at a bar in Smith St .... COPGTO are the plates on it.
