i need help please.......:(
i got a speedo corrector for the au and this is how u connect it. For the AU's you need to remove the cluster, and cut the two white wires on the J2 connector on pins 17 and 18. Join the two white wires together on the harness side and connect them to the input of the corrector. The output of the corrector join to the cluster plug where you cut the white wire off pin 17. Pin 18 of the cluster remains unconnected. the problem is the back of the dash isnt marked wats wat. does any body have a wiring diagram or something that' ll tell me which pins i need. |

Hey guys sorry to sound moronic but is this speedo corrector to fix the speedo if you do a diff gear ratio change?
Also if you have a flash tuner arent you able to do this through the tuner instead of using 1 of these speedo correctors? |

Also for future reference, to address a question posted above, yes, the tune does cover the diff ratio, but it does not affect the speedo. The tune change will only impact the speed the ecu thinks you are doing - it has an impact on gear shifts, lean cruise implementation and other functions where speed is a factor. For the speedo, you have to change the speedo gear in the gearbox or use a corrector as mentioned above.

I just pulled the cluster out of my series 2 te50 to fit my corrector and it has 3 plugs instead of 2 so im not sure which pins mean what?
I had a look around in the pinout daigrams in the tech support but couldnt really find what i needed, could someone please show me the way to a te50 instrument cluster plug/pinout daigram. I have a 20 pin plug on the left and a 16 pin plug and also a 10 pin plug on the right. Cheers |

For my fairmont series 2 wires 17 on the left was the input and wire 18 the output wire for the speedo signal The 2 plugs on the right above and below each other are actually counted as one plug in the wiring diagram not sure if tseries are diffrent Tho

Also did you use the two white wires on the right hand side of the left hand side dash connector plug as you face the dash from the drivers seat? Is ground and ignition wired up correctly I used pins 1 for ground and pin 4 for ignitin wire.

I rechecked all the wiring and it was correct,i got it direct from shiftkits.com so i didnt build it.
Ive fitted 3 or 4 of these and never had an issue but they were fitted to e series cars. I had the two white wires (17,18)coming from the harness going onto the green, the yellow wire going to pin 17,18 was left disconnected, black to 1 and red to 4. It had 12 volts when the key was on. What would wire 18 normally do when connected? |

We have an article in the tech portal about installing the Jaycar speedo corrector and wiring for EA-BF models.
Cheers Russ

Wire 18 is the speedo output wire to the ecu you wire pin 17 and 18 to the input wire on the speedo corrector And leave the cluster plug disconnected so bypassing the dash

I wired 17 and 18 from the harness to the input and then the output to the 17 wire which goes to the dash and left 18 disconnected like my instructions said.(green is the input and yellow is the output on the corrector) How did you get the dash to work with the 20 pin plug not plugged in? |
