As of today my right rear door only locks when it feels like it.
Now I've read the other central locking threads, including Russells excellent repair pics, but I dont think mine is a broken shaft as it works occasionally. Loose or bad connection maybe?

Thanks JC, it will have to wait untill Wed now.
If that is the problem looks like I'll be going for the $55 eBay option.

Pulled the door panel today JC and the little lever that is supposed to go click/clack is only going click!
So it looks like the man on eBay gets my money. Oh, and are'nt those door panels a bugger to get off!!

Well the man from eBay sent the lock and now all doors work.
And at $65, including a prepaid overnight bag for return of the old one, it's hard to beat. If anyone is interested but doesn't want to go the eBay way call Grant at Gas Struts Recharge on 03 98865590

Yeah I thought it was JC.
He told me of some people that pull them apart then send for one, but leave some of the parts out, and one client that could'nt work out how to unclip the wiring plug so he cut the wires and sent the unit back for a changeover!! Grant also had'nt heard of AFF (Shock-horror!!) so I set him straight with the URL. I said I'd better keep his ph number handy in case the bonnet struts need doing later.

I have a 99 XH with central locking, and the doors are the same, so even if the XG didn't come out with it (I don't really know, either way) it's on the cards that a previous owner of your ute might've installed HX gear, and either not "linked" them electronically, or the "link" is now broken through an electrical or mechanical fault.
