Default Clutches ?

My Rebel needs a new clutch! Ford want $11??.00 for their kit (I know, why even price it), it's just from any other parts I've got from Ford their generally no too bad.

Rang Repco they want $700 for a Daiken kit. Is this about right? I can buy a kit to suit a Landcruiser for half that!

Got a price of a local clutch spert, he says he will only fit a Mustang clutch to them. He says it has a different geometry to the standard so the pedal will feel lighter, but the clamping pressure is increased. He also says by fitting this Clutch it eliminates the firewall cracking.

All feedback welcome, as long as it is constructive!

I have used a couple varients of Mustang clutches before (not sure about the comments on firewall as I still had to weld one back up LOL) I would not use a standard Ford clutch. If you do any performance driving or towing then you have to goto a heavy duty clutch.

New at this. I am having clutch problems to. Ford wanted $2000+ for Genuine clutch kit fitted, but give a warranty. Ave found 250kw aftermarket clutch kit cheaper than 220kw at half price of genuine . does anyone else have experience in the pain of genuine parts?

why go genuine parts?

an aftermarket heavy duty clutch will out preform with both durability and performance everyday of the week.

for $2000 are they giving you a new gearbox aswell?
