Default W427 between $148,000 - $168,000

Off ls1.com.au...

Final allocation and specs will be advised in late June.

Now for the scary bit - pricing will be between $148,000 & $168,000 plus on road costs.

Is a $100,000 premium over a GTS { assuming on roads costs warranted for the LS7,Bigger Brakes and revised suspesion settings and a few cosmetic upgrades?

We are are long way from the $125,000 estimates with out taking into account good old Kevin07 just upping the luxury car tax by 8% which will push the price up about another $8,000.

What's your opinions fella's - have HSV over estimated what the punters are willing to handover for the privelage of putting their backsides into a 7litre HSV.

I think so.

For that price, i'd be getting a BMW or something else, not a HSV.

It's a nice car but even for those who were keen to throw money at it before, you would have to rethink the decision at that price considering it isn't exactly what the HRT427 was.

This side of $200k, I'd be getting the new GT-R if I had the money to play with and rape the W427 all over the shop except in getting the groceries

With that price in mind I'd be purchasing the Nissan GTR for sort of coin. ATM trying to get my hands on one for next year production.

For that sort of coin I'd rather buy the new FG GT and the new FG F6...........and still have enough money left over for enough petrol to run them both for the next 12 months and for Insurance and rego and a change of tyres.............

A HSV thats 20-30k more expensive than a C63 AMG, is that some sort of joke. Even more expensive than an M3, Boxster S and probably the new GTR. How inbred must an owner be to buy one over any of the others.

Many on here said they would pay that plus more for an race bred FG - HO! So I am sure there will be some in the red camp willing to pay the big sums for the WD40?

Saying you express and interest and putting hand in pocket are two differnt things. Way to many other things to buy ..........

At least they showed a car on more than one occasion and then build the concept a-la monaro and now the 7L V8.

They've got to be kidding right? CSV will dump an LS7 in your current GTS along with intake, exhaust and suspension mods for $50K cheaper and you still get a warranty. How can HSV charge that much when a backyard (no offence of CSV but in the context of who they are being compared to the comment is more of an example of relativity rather than an insult as it reflects badly on HSV not them) tunehouse from country Victoria can charge $110K.

Its an Awsome looking ride and 370kws, but its way to expensive, you could get a good low km BMW M5 with 507 factory horse power with that money.

will they build them if only a handfull of people put a deposit down?

Whoa...that thing must be gold plated or something!

Better off getting a C63 AMG ($140k) and spending the change on fuel and track days. :

I would only pay that for this model if it was a limited run. Otherwise I could think of much better cars to spend my money on and as someone said, the GTR springs straight to mind.

This price 'rise' as it were might be because they have figured they have X number of orders already (plus a certain number of die hard Holden fans expressing interest etc.), but think it won't sell all that much over the long term, so are trying to cash in while they can. Pay off the development costs as it were. Frankly this is ridiculous, the examples people have provided (GT-R. C63 etc.) are sufficient to prove this, but more importantly what about the logical competitors both from Ford and HSV itself. Didn't HSV say about 4.5-4.8 second to 100, ah, a FG F6 will do that (well near enough) for 60-70 k less. HSV LS3 cars probably do around 5 sec dead, same thing. The exclusivity and other improvements aren't worth it. :

Eagle Auto sell 427 ls motors for around 22 grand.
