Default DTE whats the most km's you have got?

ive been driving like a granny lately, trying to keep the cost down of petrol each week.

got a suprise when i filled up tonight

776km's

that is the most i have seen in the 47,000km's i have owned the car for.

normally it is around 650km with the lowest that i have seen of 520km's.

there is no way im getting 700 odd km's to a tank though, getting around 500-600km's around town

The most i've ever driven on 1 tank highway driving was 936kms, not sure what the DTE said though, but I know I had 4km left on DTE when I decided to fill up lol.
Around town average of 450-550 depending on how happy I get. Worst tank ever was somewhere around 290-320..but damn it was fun.

Furthest I got on this tank was actually a little over 900km, but showed this when I filled up near the start.

On the highway, my forte would get 1000 to 1175 km to a tank
So northern Adelaide to Cobar in NSW on one tank

probably because of the 3.08 diff ratio, it was dumped 70mm also.
Who knows, it's a mystery

The worst I've seen is just over 300, the best was 616. Never got anywhere near that, best I have gotten from a tank is around the 450 mark.

In my old 1 Tonne Tradesman work ute, the worst I ever saw was 170DTE. The best wasn't much over that though too..... To say we thrashed that poor thing is an understatement.

In the XR8, who knows, who cares?

You have to care, there is pride in knowing that you got bugger all k's to a tank!

Hey Shane, I want you to reset your trip meter and see how much you actually get before you need to fill up again :P I was gonna make some kind of bet with you that if you make it to 700 on that tank (or less) I'd buy you something, but if I do that you'll probably manage it LOL.

I reckon most I've ever seen on my DTE after a fill up was just over 600, about 620 or something. Because I'm kinda paranoid and never run it to empty (usually a quarter is as low as it gets) I've never really got the trip meter far enough to see how far I've done, but usually around 350-400 from three quarters of a tank of V-Power (from memory, I've probably stuffed those figures).

The DTE figure can be "manipulated" so at the end of the day it means nothing. Its what you actually get from the tank that counts.

If you have been hammering the car and then fill it up the DTE will be a low figure based on the way its been driven in the last part of the trip. So conversely, if you have been soft pedalling it you will get a high DTE when you fill it. Say you have been on a long downhill section requiring little to no throttle application in the last 5 klms before you fill it the DTE will be high.

That said, the most I have got from a tank in the T Series is 540Klms on a trip from Grafton to Gosford with the DTE saying it would travel a further 100 klms with the fuel gauge showing 1/4 tank. But after restarting the car next morning the tank showed near empty and the DTE was quickly recalcualting a lower figure by the time I got to a servo. Thats in the TS auto without the air on

I had a AU v8 1 tonner and run out of juice although the DTE said 36k's to go..

So I would not trust the readout to much..

Doesn't look like I could get that fuel economy anymore though. Put nearly half a tank in this morning, and the DTE read 76km when I got to work 10mins later. Can't bloody believe it, I haven't driven it in a while but half a tank better go a lot further...

The highest my DTE read was 900+ km on the way back from Merimbula, NSW to Melbourne. And I got it too!! COnsidering I might have, allegedly, been sitting on 80-130 through the twistys near the coast, not bad me thinks

I forgot my wallet on the way home from work once when I was going to fill up. Had to go home, back to work in the morning, and then to the servo. Ended up reading 13km to go... I feel even more lucky now!!

On a trip I can get around 750-800km out of a tank in my ute but that is driving sensibly. I have had it read 0dte for around 18km's (half way between home & singleton) on a trip once tho (prob slowest/easiest i have ever taken it).
