I'd check with your energy supplier because i know that we (countryenergy) did a green energy deal earlier in the year that you might be able to get on to.

I'm not a big fan of those globes, won't use them.

I tend to like my light dimmed when I'm at my PC, not off altogether, but not totally bright either.

Unfortunately those globes don't seem to work too well with dimmers I've found, so yeah I stick with my normal filament globes.

Now didn't we just have a thread about converting biomass to petrol that stated that in order to work there needs to be lots of greenhouse gas for the plants to grow?

Does this mean that greenies are now eco vandals??????

This has been going on for years.

You'll find that to get the globes you have to sign for them. If you read the (very) small print you'll find that by getting and signing for them you then give the company that supplies them permission to claim 'energy credits'.

Around here it started with real estate agents giving away 4 free globes and a water saving showerhead, then various other 'energy' companies started handing them out in shopping malls.

The second I heard "CREDITS", I immediately though "F-You", sent this post, then closed the thread.

Always a catch, and I am not supporting that credit scheme when some bozo only benefits from it in a financial way.
