So it is a new car that you need to wait for?
If that is the case, it is a pretty poor performance on the part of the seller. Have you paid anything as yet for the paint protection? Have you paid a deposit for the car? Read the fine print on any paperwork you have been given. The fact that the paint protection is not on the original sales contract may be in your favour?? Curious to hear what others say, there are a handful of members here who work in dealerships. |

you have a seven day "cooling" off clause, If they refuse to refund the paint protection tell them to jam it.

If you called them within 24 hours of signing the contract, you are perfectly within your rights to change your mind.
In saying this I would assume that most dealers would let you drop it anyway. |

yes made a deposit. abt 4000 bucks!!!
so cant get out of buying the car - which i dont want to do anyway. just dont want this paint stuff...which is costing $3000. i havent paid for it yet. deposit was just for the car. yes called within 24 hrs. coz they were stuffing me arnd...sent a fax/email in writing as well saying i am cancelling it. the invoice is just a 1 page thing....which is not part of the car contract and also this invoice thing has no terms and conditions. so they shud cancel it. |

There is in queensland, I think they are trying to bluff you. Dont get caught in the trap of wanting your new car so badly that you end up paying for the protection. 3k what are they protecting the paint with gold????

I bet she was good looking and spun a good yarn, these secondry sales is like going through a staged exit with an upsell at every corner.
The old bad luck is probably a line used for suckers that believe it, and would guess regardless a cooling of period applies. even without that if your soft expect to pay, simple story to the sales people i dont want it i wont pay for it so dont waste your time. |

Common sense "should" prevail, just persevere with the dealer and involve the dealer principle if needed... They probably make more money from these scams than they make on the car sale...

4Vman i am sure he is only talking about the paint protection not the car, which would be a rort if the dealer stuck to it.
twinkle twinkle, if your young and not much power about you get an adult to go with you, and you need to firm you dont want this option. |
