Hope it turns to sales, but its going to be hard in this financial climate. Local dealer just sent me a letter about a sale this weekend saying finance company leaving and all floor stock has to go. Up to 25% of some new cars supposedly. RATT you must be doing it tough too. Good luck mate.
Just checked flyer and it says 25% off ALL new car RRP. Not sure if thats good value or not.

FG XR6 with 25% off $29,992.50 Looks like great value to me. Great news on the award, there was never doubt in my mind this was going to happen though.

If an FG XR6 is indeed 30k, that's bloody good value for a model that hasn't been around all that long.
If you want a new car, then seriously consider it.

What will they make of the G6E Turbo coming second in the prestige segment ahead of a variety of Lexus, BMWs and Mercs?

If so I'm going into the Ford Dealer after work and seeing what kind of deal I can barter. If I can get 10g for my XR, that's a 20g FG XR6!!!

True to form Ford marketing are yet to have woken up to the fact they have won a pretty major gong. There is absolutely nothing on their website. Plenty of crap about diversity and corporate citizenship though so I suppose that makes up for it.
Seriously this is a uncontested free kick 1 metre out that they have somehow managed to kick out of bounds on the full! Last edited by Richmalbill; 03-12-2008 at 03:59 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Note the "up to" 25% on "some" new cars in that other guys post. In other words you might score a beige 2007 plated XT for 25% off...... Even if they did discount it 25% (which they won't) what do you think would happen to the resale of this vehicle? Its not all about RRP. Sorry to rain on any parade. : PS - Congrats on easily the best car in the segment winning.

Yeah, because I'm just gonna walk in and take whatever they give me for my car : That's why I said see what deal I could barter. If I couldn't get a deal I was happy with, I'd walk out.

And all I'm saying is that your gonna get sfa on a trade in. If you can find someoen thats sill enough to pay more privately then you'd have a good deal. Rodp, unfortunatly Ford has already crumbled on their sell less and not discount. I guess they want the models out of their stock. Not good for the private buyer....even fleet managers.

: Hi. Isn't it great. Ford, Holden, and everyone else are flogging their cars off cheap. That makes buying them easy and cheap. That makes them worth f*&^ all when you trade them in and can buy them for the price of a lolly pop. Like every thing else, everything is worth nothing and has no value NEW, USED or . Look at caravans on Trading Post or eBay. God help the economy and any person trying to get ahead. Ford has flogged most of Mazda off and looking for a sucker to buy the safest BRICK in the Ausy world, - VOLVO. Holden have there doubts about the Monaro in Yanky land as they, U.S.A. are talking about dropping the Yanky Ausy Import as they have to flog x thousand in Yanky land. So who cares what or who got what car of the year. None are worth nothing. Happy hunting.Glen. : : : :togo: :
