Default Lowering the AU?

Hi - Pedders want $1400 to lower my AU and put some new shocks in. This sounds crazy expensive to me, can people suggest some cheaper options for lowering the car and improving handling? - Needs to be legal though. Thanks.

That is ridiculously expensive!

Just grab some King's springs in the height you want (lows are legal, superlows are often borderline, ultras definitely illegal), and grab some cheap reasonable shocks like Boge's etc to suit your springs.

As for handling, you may find new shocks tidy it up a fair bit anyway, but you could always grab some swaybars for more.

Budget around $250 for new springs, up to $500 for decent shocks, and around $200 for fitting. Swaybars should cost under $400 including bushes, and fitting is only around $50 last time I had it done.

for that much get some koni shocks, and some lovells Lows, and might have enough left for sway bars front and back if you install everything yourself, with even basic tools, not a hard job to do.

Or for half that, get some king springs, boge shocks and sway bars front and back.

I'm no mechanic or that brilliant around cars but I lowered mine myself with some help from this forum. The AU is not that hard a car to do it just take a bit of time if you do it yourself. But give it a go if you want to save some big bucks.
