Default Hypothetical Question- coupe body shell

As the title suggests.
Suppose you knew someone who has a body shell (purchased approx 20yrs ago), used for about a year and stored ever since.
And if that same person was wanting to sell said body shell, what would that body shell be worth?
Keeping in mind that it is a genuine shell bought from ford originally.

How do you "use" a body shell?

A brand new coupe body shell from ford would not come with any numbers!

Where does it say that? Purchase 20 years ago puts it at about 1989, coupes stopped in 1977..
Have a read of the second line in the original post...... "used for about a year".. not sure what that means either.....

VIN & tags (does'nt think it has them) are being checked.
He wants to sell it but does'nt want the attention that goes with it, (tyre kickers).
I have known him & his brother for 19yrs (the brother bought & still has my GT coupe).
They have a few GT's between them and are well known in their area..
Any suggestions in regards to the best way to sell?

I know this person bought it from another so maybe used as a circuit car or something previously???

Ok... well without wanting to make any assumptions or cast any aspersions towards anyone the "seller" would be well advised to have it inspected to make sure there are no existing numbers (removed or otherwise) before trying to sell it if you get my drift...
Id be VERY surprised if it didnt have, or has had numbers at some point in its life...

I worked for a panel beater in Clayton Victoria in the eighties and if we got a write off in that still had all good interior and running gear my boss would order a new bodyshell from Ford or Holden and transfer all the damaged cars parts over and put the tags on and stamp new shell, back then it was completely legal to do so through the insurer and vic roads

love hyperthetical questions : )
i would say mmmm, i got no idea : ) but the big expence is all the other bits u need ,trims crome etc etc rear window if u had a stuffed rusted out coupe with all the bits it would b a good option. il toss in 7-10k for a top shell can easy spend that on rust repair ,but no numbers tags n stuff can open a can of worms
