Well it is now the end of the first decade (well actually the last day of 2010 is the end but popular opinion varies) and it has been very exciting on the Falcon front.
So which Falcon has been the greatest leap forward. Which has had the most influence? My opinion, the BA XR6T. It was the first of a whole new technology that finally after many years took the fight back to the evil red pussy empire. But I am sure others think differently so here is a poll. Please note the poll is not which is the fastest or best looking or sounding or shiniest or most collectible or whatever. It is which Falcon has had the most impact. |

The XR6T had a massive impact no doubt, but I voted F6 as a progression from the XR6T as it finally gave the Falcon/FPV some (well...more so) Street Cred amongst the casual buyer or traditionally WRX/EVO/GTR/GTS fan and is drawing traditional V8 fans to it in droves....and deservedly so I say.
Can't wait to get my hands on one.

Have to agree with the BA XR6T being the car to change things and have such a positive impact for ford.
I hope the re-engined V8 will have the same impact for the next decade

Impact on performance motoring - without doubt the XR6T....
Impact on motoring in general - Territory (soccer mums weapon of choice) Impact on me personally - BA GT (the legend returns) Though my favourite car of the decade would have to be the G6ET for its sleeper looks and ball-tearing performance... And a close second is the BF GT-P for the colour/stripe packages (not including the 40th anniv/cobra GT which I hate both with a passion). Thats my 2 cents...

I voted GT/GTP, the return of that badge was inspiring.
The XR6T certainly made a decent impact on the oppositions ego |

Most impact overall? I'd say BA XR6T or GT
Most impact on me? G6ET I wouldn't have seen myself going past an XR with most of the fruit, for a Fairmont Ghia (maybe a V8). While I especially liked the look of BF Fairmont Ghia's, especially in Silhouette, it was the G6ET that brought everything I wanted together.

For the Ford enthusaist I think XR6T hands down, it finally gave us fans something modern to be proud of, as for Ford's most favorite impact, the Territory without any doubt. Uncle Geoff released a car aussies had been wanting for years and in return they rewarded him with great sales figures.

GT/GT-P simply because it saved FPV/Tickfords butt from extinction, closely followed by the XR6T, an inspirational car because of its great engine.

I choose XR6-T - For Kicking Holden and Ricers EGO and The Respect Factor it brought FORD and its Passionate Supporters.
Equally worthy is the XR8 Great V8 and Bonnet Bulge - Bloody Fantastic Got Everyone Talking. The AU T Series is Fantastic and believe it to be quite achiever however due to overall perception of AU it didnt give FORD much Credit. G6E-T and F6 are great examples of Ford and FPV overall achievments and future directions. Long live the 6T..... I wouldn't mind SCV8 hehe

GT, for those of us who missed the '70s it was great to see those 2 letters on a falcon on a permanent basis.

I voted T-Series (specifcally T3) with a very close second to the XR6T.
My reasoning is that the T3 showed what lengths Ford/Tickford were willing to go to, to develop a performance car, and it got us ready for GT. XR6T also got non Ford fans into new fords. |

I put the G6ET, since it's popularity has exploded in recent months. But the car that did it for me personally (out of whats selectable ;) ) was the GT of course.

XR6T was a bombshell that changed the game forever, easily the standout new arrival (Ford or Holden) of the noughties.

Xr6t due to it's affordability, performance, mod market and practicality for family use. It's a fantastic car for all those reasons

XR6t for sure. Just look at the progression since. From the baby turbo XR6 (BA) low 14 second sports car, to now with the F6 that does 12.5 standing 1/4's and the G6et which does 12.7's, all with a completely luxurios ride and interior. All coupled with awesome fuel economy, an even better price tag, and for me, the inability to get one due to the fact Im paying to much off my house.

But for Ford Australia, the Territory.
