Default Audi's Eco Pro Fascist commercial

Aud has just released an ad that sets a new low in advertising where Fascism is all the rage.

That's disturbing. Pretty clever ad though.

I must have missed something, looks to me like their there taking the mickey out of the politically correct Eco warriors. Fairly long bow to draw, linking it to fascism.

Its one of those that you can take either way. I can see where the fascist tag comes from, but at the same time, it looks as though it is taking the p!$$ out of the eco movement.

The sad thing is things are going that way, plastic bags are banned, incandescent bulbs are illegal to sell, water restrictions etc and I wouldn't be surprised if people begin to be targeted for not being "green".

I can see the facist angle but it looks like Audi are having fun with the greenies.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fascism

This may help those who don't get how the ad lampoons "eco fascism".

People are being offended(refering to the person in the OP's link) because of audi's alledged links to Nazi germany during ww2. This is where the facism link comes about and I'm fully aware of the meaning of facism.

That's a brilliant add - its funny, it says what it needs to say, you remember what product they're advertising (a clean diesel, of any kind, although its unmistakably an Audi) and no matter how many times its on TV it will always give you a little smirk.

Anyone who gets offended by that can go love themselves in the biblical sense.

Well done to the advertising company, and Audi for endorsing it, there's NOTHING pro-fascist about that add AT ALL. Geez I hate morons.

Agreed. This is one the the best ads i've seen. Its funny, entertaining, comments on and questions political issues all while supporting them, but in a cool and easy going way.

Fascist? What?

It's an attempt to highlight little steps that everyone can take... OK, so it's giving the middle finger to the people who drone on and on about saving the planet, but don't do little things like change their light bulbs to save energy. It's also giving the middle finger to people who think that you have to drive a car with no power to be eco-friendly.

The message is clearly, shut up and pull your finger out and take all the little steps you can to save the planet, and here's one you can take, without compromising on you car - drive a powerful car that's green!

SIMPLE! No Fascism there. :

I think its a brilliant ad, but probably best for people with that kind of sense of humour. It would probably work well in Aus.
Its a bit like Toyota's Metro ad.

I think thats a little bit of an over reaction. Im not condoning what happened during the Nazi regime but the amount of technology that came out of it, if we were to simply not use it due to its links to Nazi Germany, well wouldn't have come as far as we had.
It seems a bit unfair to tar a group of companies with that brush for events 60 years old.
(Not necessarily having a go at your XF but just the point you've brought up)

Thick as a brick, must be a Labor voter. Thinks of Rudd's ETS Enforcers down the track.

Blary good ad, won't past muster here in oz, it'll upset Penny and the true believers.

Haha that was a pretty funny ad, I enjoyed that. We need more ads like that, but it'd probably get banned here because of at the end, the car was "accelerating hard" and such "promoting hooning". SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!

The poster makes a comment about Audi and the Nazis...... should we also make the links to VW, Mercedes.... etc... etc...

I dont see any links to fascism there at all, except lots of humour.
Possibly the poster sees it as "anti_ American" as it takes the ******** out of the USA and where it is headed?

... and out of 300,000,000 americans, that douche reckons he has the backing of a whopping 50,000 subscribers to his blog? Bahahahahah. Surely even americans as a majority aren't that short sighted.

that was a blood hilarious commercial. All the haters saying its facist need to take a step back, it's a funny commercial. If you are concerned about facism look in your own backyard, Australia isn't far off with Krudd in lead.
