Exclamation Fire extinguisher recall

http://cams.com.au/en/Safety/~/media...inguisher.ashx

Purpose
This safety alert informs motor sport stakeholders including, officials, competitors and pit/service crews of the recent announcement by Chubb Fire and Security Pty Ltd of the voluntary recall of Chubb, Quell, Fire Smart, Motorcraft and Flameguard dry powder 1kg, 1.5kg, 2.3kg, 2.5kg and 4.5kg fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers such as these are often fitted in competition automobiles in accordance with CAMS National Competition Rules, Schedule of H — Fire Extinguishers

Circumstances
Chubb through internal testing recently, discovered that a proportion of fire extinguishers do not meet the filling capacity requirement of the Australian Standard (AS/NZ 1841) . As a result, the affected fire extinguisher may not release a sufficient stream of powder.
The defect poses a high risk to users as it potentially may lead to inconsistent operation of the extinguisher. This could result in the extinguisher not being able to put out a fire.
