roof racks? geez Rob what'll it be next? lpg??

Anyhow ... are you installing or removing? I don't understand when you say "nothing happens". After turning the key to unlock the cover you then have to pull the cover away from the mounting bracket so you can get to the release lever. The cover slides towards you in a horizontal movement to come away from the bracket.

Okay, pretty straight forward once you understand the concept. Yesterday I was trying to pull the whole cover, let alone trying to stand, not just the top one by itself...

Default Re: How to install Ford AU Roof Racks???

Hi there

When I put factory roof racks onto my AUII sedan, I get a "no confidence" feeling

They seem to only hold on to the thin metal seam around the doors. When I close the clamp down, they seem however to be rock solid.

Can someone maybe give me the heads up on the physics at work here, do the clamps somehow put downward pressure on, and if so it still seems the thin metal seam is the only thing stopping them being pulled up and off. And how does the ajustable nut on them come into play.

Maybe I'm just a worry wart..? Any comments would be appreciated

cheers guys!
