Default Au2 rear suspension noise.

Hey Hey.

My au2 sr has a knock in the rear suspension some where. I just changed to superlows and kyb dampers. I've checked every bolt/nut in the rear and it's still there.

I can hear it driving at low speeds over man holes but not at highway speeds hitting bumps.

Any ideas ?

It'll be Live axle.

Could be the springs banging - you can get some PVC wrap to quiet them a bit, but hard to get rid of it totally.

Yup live axle. I put the factory rubber seats on both ends of the spring. It's more of high pitched knock, almost a rattle. Like a ****** sway bar link pin but I've checked the rear rubbers twice.

I thought that originally but it doesn't make a sound when I bounce the car or hit smooth wavy bumps.

I'm thinking I may have disturbed a sway bar bush.

I can feel the noise in the lhr damper while rocking the car so I took it out and the noise was gone. I fitted the old damper and the noise came back. I've refitted the new kyb damper and the noise is still there. Going to a mates shop to use his Hoist.

Part of the noise was the boot rattle and I've fixed that. Im 99% sure it's the watts link bushes so I'll replace them in Thursday hopefully.

Interesting thread.

I have a similar squeaky noise from the back of my car but it only is prevalent when I turn corners. (no not in wheel spin) I was thinking maybe trailing arm bushes or something like that?

Thats possible. Except it was happening intermittently, not like you would expect when the wheels turn etc.
