Looked it up in the book and it said it is because of a possible brake system failure or something.
I only bled the back two wheels (lost my spanner) and took it for a spin to see how it was. Got around 100m down the road and the "((!))" came on for a split second then went away. Turned it back and parked it. Car is an AU2 (with ABS) No loss in braking performance was evident. Brake fluid reservoir was full. Can someone tell me if this is normal? Similar to to oil pressure light coming on after an oil change? If not, what is wrong? Regards.

Check the fluid level. If that's ok some times the float in side the reservoir gets stuck in the empty position and reds empty even though it's full.

The warning light is activated by pressure sensor not a float.
If the pressure in the system falls below the threshhold while the pedal is depressed then the light comes on. In your case it probably means there was some residual air in the caliper and this caused the sudden drop in pressure but immediately cleared itself so no harm done. Just do another quick bleed on both calipers as a safety check and all should be good. |

mine come on for a few seconds on a first test drive after replacing the front rotors... i wouldn't worry about it. i decided it was just the brake pads moving back into position (a few mm away from the rotors)
