So I don't usually go an look for parts at supercheap but the sign out the front said up to 50% off storewide. I thought awesome I can see if I can get some slotted rotors. I look on the website and the DBA Slotted sports series for the BF were $123ea. I thought cool I can get them a bit cheaper, so I go to my local store and they had only 1ea of the FR anf FL on the shelf so I thought score. Go to the counter and they scan as $123ea. I said "I thought it was up to 50% off storewide", the reply was "only the standard DBA rotors are on special" I then replied with "But the sign says storewide" again I got the whole "but these are not included in the sale". I kept my cool and simply asked what storewide meant to them?. The person was stumped and I walked out. So why offer storewide sale if you are going to pick and choose what in the stroe can be on sale.

"Up to" is what got you.
Meaning 0-50% off. Your items happened to be 0% off. |

Many stores do this. It's a scam to get people to the registers where they are likely to just pay full price and not worry about getting ripped off

A lot like the Fathers Day or Mothers Day sales etc. A company that SC bought out here in WA used to bring products in for the Sales catalogue and then a week after the sale these new items dropped by 20% of the original sales price.
Having worked for the company theu bought out for two years you learn these are just tricks of the trade. |

Hey I did not expect them to be 50% off I was thinking even 10% off would be a good price. I didn't expect it to be 0% I mean seriously, saying everything is up to 50% off is misleading and in my case I never thought of 0%.

When I saw the title, I was certain this would be a thread about Supercheap's tendency to stock 1000's of fake pedal covers, franjipani stickers, playboy seat covers and heaps of no name brand DOOF, but no actual mechanical automotive parts.. I've had this gripe when I couldn't even get an orange indicator globe... .. orange neon on the other hand.. no prob!!

I work at a supercrap competitor on weekends and I cant stand the people that will come in, argue the point about prices and then get the sh!ts when you point out the fine print. Sure, there's some fine print involved but seriously, the staff in the stores dont set the prices and the deals so dont take it out on us.

I know what the up to means, but still was not happy today when I went to Super Cheap for some oil, filters and generic cleaning products, all stuff I needed to service my run around 4X4 to prep for a new years hunting trip and all the stuff I needed was 0% off.
It is a bit of a con, but the 'up to' covers them on that unfortunately. And I needed the stuff regardless so no loss, but no saving either... |

Of course they never discount the items people want or need to buy. They only discount the crap that nobody wants.

Ha Ha, you went into "Super Cheap", I will only go there when I get a catalogue in the mail stating X brand oil at $X.
There are Super Cheap for a reason... I gave up when in the past I asked for a set of brake pads for a XB.. "Sorry, they are a buy in." I tried for a Thermostat to suit a 351c "Sorry, they are a buy in." I asked for a pair of rocker cover gaskets to fit a 351c "Sorry, they are a buy in." But they had fluro lights, "Calibre" brand guages and rolls of fake checker plate on the shelf.... Leave it for the "P" plate guy's with a simple late 80's car, to be dressed up to impress each other. If you want brakes: Hoppers Stoppers If you want parts: Burson's and Repco If you want the good *****: GT Ford Performance Repco are currently 25% off storewide. I bought a trolley jack that had a shelf price of $197, it was on display for $162 and less discount about $110....

Its hardly a storewide sale if some things are still at their original price.

While we are on big, faceless, national companies scamming us (), has anyone else noticed Rays Outdoors raising their prices a few weeks before their big sales?
