Default is this true or fake

this email was sent to me today. not sure if it is true or staged. the story goes like this. this bloke was crusing down Farmer Freeway in Perth heading to Polly Pipe. when his engine blows. so he rings his mate to come and help. and while he's waiting he gets started on pulling the engine. True or not but here are the photo's sent to me. would love to think this guy is on this forum.

He carries around an engine crane?? Maybe it has happened to him before and he just put all his good boy scout skills to the test.

Someone give that man his engine changing badge

Staged or the XP was on a trailer with parts/gear being taken somewhere and the tow rig had a breakdown.

It really isnt to hard to rip out an old 6 out of an XP.

Why does he have 2 gearboxes? I suspect photoshop or staged.

Reminds me of the people who set themselves up on the side of the road just before the google street view car is scheduled to go past.

Funny none the less...

Looks photoshopped. One of those situations if it was real, where I would like to be a copper. I'd congratulate him on his skills and then fine him for spilling oil all over the road. That would be bloody lethal for a motorbike.

How does it look photoshopped?

What is photoshopped in/out of the photo? the background?

I would say it is staged, or a highly enthusiastic guy.

I will say fake. Take a look at the engine and coolant spills. They are running towards the centre of the road. If he is pulled over onto the left shoulder, then the camber of the road would send the oil in the opposite direction, and into the gutter.

i'd say real but the motor didn't blow the box did as the bonnet is sitting on the guard rail wires and he is aligning the clutch

but on the not of blowing the 200-250 log motors, i blew one up i had 2' of movement before the dissy moved but the funny thing is i was driving the car then turned it off and it would not start i had this happen twice

First pic shows that the road has camber towards the centre, there goes that theory.

Yep, fake I reckon. There is a lot of sun light hitting the side of the car, check out the reflection off the chrome yet the guy's face, his clothing and the engine have little light hitting them.

It's amazing how far the RAC goes these days, and the amount of gear they can pack into a weeny van but imo the photo looks relatively ridgy didge.

The Mobi Tow truck in the third shot may be the give away as to where all this gear may have come from.
