Default Road conditions between Melb and Adl

Hi all,

Anyone of you travel Melb to Adl recently or live somewhere in between? How are the road conditions, especially after the recent flooding? (is the flooding still ongoing?) Is the road littered with roadworks, potholes, etc.

Cheers

Drove from Adelaide to Melb early this morning & apart from running over numerous mice &
bugs/grasshoppers, the road was great.
Although you do notice the difference in road condition (not as smooth) when you cross back into Vic.

How bad are the mice/grasshoppers? Do we really need to cover up the front of the car to protect the radiator/intercooler?

Well just about every second car we see in SA has some sort of mesh over the radiator right now.

I would be putting a mesh cover on just invade. Expecting more locusts to be on wing over the next week or two.

Cheers mate, where does one get a mesh cover or will any old mosquito mesh do the trick? What about a car bra?

Gee are the locust plagues THAT bad? Anybody have pics? Do they come up in swarms or do you hit one now and then? Are they worse during the day or night?

Just be careful with the cover. If it goes over the number plate the SA cops can book you for obstructing your numberplate.

Do locust come out during the day or night, or they don't care?

Cheers mate. There will be some chilly nights in the coming week in western vic (below 10 degrees), hopefully this should keep the locusts at bay and the turbo happy .
