You can have dual tone horns ... but not musical though.
A lot of factory vehicles have them as standard.

I thought they'd been illegal for many years now? "Two tone" or "musical" horns have long been a big no-no here in Queensland.

Well by my knowledge you can have them but you cant use them.
Activating your horn anywhere but private land is illegal as far as im aware..

They are not illegal if they are not the primary horn.
I have several on my bashmobile as do others and we make lots of noise with them but it is not legal to use them as a "warning device". |

I have two tones on my xr fairmont. They are both air horns ,ones like a factory ford horn and the other is an aftermarket horn, I can flick a switch under the bonnet to change my tune so to speak. What I would really love to have is a set of truck airhorns under my bonnet so that when these moron pushbike riders get in my road as they often do ,specially on the weekend ,I can cruise right up behind them ,blast my horn and watch them jump three feet in the air, might have to look further into that.

Air horns are illegal for public road use. I found this out when my girlfriends car got knocked back on a pink slip for them.

I recall seeing one in "Targo Automart" way way way back in 1982 in Bundaberg...it was the only auto parts store in town besides Repco...and it was an sir horn system with seven or eight horns, from a large one to a tiny one, and it was linked to a "keyboard" with a bunch of numbered keys on it. It was preloaded with 100 tunes, and you could program in more of your own. Never actually saw one fitted to a car as they were illegal even back then, but complicated systems certainly existed.
