Default The new Aurion

Looks like Toyotas just released its next gen Aurion....

Looks a little square to me :( Has the HSV body kit design team moved over to Toyota?

Very Camry like isn't it.... interesting agument, is the Camry a 4cyl Aurion or is the Aurion a 6cyl Camry lol... They did (still do??) share the same body structure with just a different front and back, external and internal measurements are very close as well.

I thought they were up to at least Gen 3/4 in the Aurion??

'Lexus Lite' lol....

Edit: Was thinking about the Avalon.. Aurion entered the market in 06.

Yeah thats a bit average, and might even be a bit to much for the average Aurion owner..who knows.

The rest of it is still so very very..Toyota. No doubt its capable but still lacking any enticement IMO.

It has some nice standard features in the high end models... Xenons, blind spot cameras etc. Ford could learn a bit from it with respect to G6E and FPV models....

I think the old runout model is much better looking in saying that.

They really need to shake up the formula a bit, with LPG, diesel or a wagon. Otherwise I dont see this really having a big impact on the large car market.

We had an Aurion as a hire car earlier this year and going up a dirt mountain in NZ with your foot flat to the floor resulted in speeds of up to 20km/h... Then when you go around a bend it would understeer and you'd have to almost come to a stop to turn.
Of course the TRD model sounded really nice but after driving one it wouldn't be on my list.

The sports models don't look that great at all.

Certainly an improvement from the last model but we will still find them lined up at your local lawn bowling clubhouse instead of a McDoanlds drive thru!

its good to see how Toyota values its long term workers at Altona victoria. terrible car and terrible how they have sacked workers with more than 20 years service. They believe they were treated like DOGS. Shame on Toyota!

Yeah an Aurion is a Camry with a 6 cyl engine

We considered the Aurion before buying the XR50. I rented a SX6 in NZ a few years ago and it was great drive. Drove it hard through the mountains and it handled great. But the missus thought it was too bland and whilst it drove 'nice' it wasn't inspiring. Mind you she wasn't keen on the XR6 either. But she appreciates its size.

At least they made the previous Aurion different enough from the Camry to be recognisable as an Aurion, this abortion looks nearly exactly the same as the Camry, bar the lame HSV rip off rear bar on the Gheytivo.

So boring, just looking at it makes me sleepy.
