Default Cortina TF S Pac

I've just bought a TF S Pac Cortina 6 4 speed to go with my XA 250 2V 4 speed. Just thought it would make a nice addition as you don't see them around these days (either of them). The Cortina's in great nick, but is missing a wheel cap from the factory cross hatch (noughts and crosses) rims. Any leads in finding a cap or wheels would be appreciated. The XA is a great car as well, being a factory GS 250 2V 4 speed in Teal Blue/white interior. This is a great site, happy to be here.

Well, tried to post pictures, failed miserably. Guess I'm showing my age. Found a centre cap for the Cortina, also a rear spoiler, now just trying to track down a front spoiler. If anyone can help, it'd be great. They were an option, but pretty rare.

Cheers.

The spoiler I picked up is a high lip, more like the XD one. The one on the limited edition you have was a low one. Both were left black, not body colour.
I've been trawling GB and S.African internet sites looking for a front spoiler. Theres a rear spoiler on ebay GB at the moment. I must admit I'm a little envious of your limited edition. Would love to add one to my garage. They were orange with red stripes and Cortina in script down the side with a rear spoiler and sports seats if my memory is right. Great car.

Gee thanks ,

it pretty much fell into my lap about 8 years ago, an old friend had bought it about 5 years before as a project , then lost interest in it when he developed a habit for smoking out a light globe.

they were also available in red

Only ever saw the orange ones, and I really like red. If you ever come across another, keep me in mind.

Took the Cortina out for a run the other day, a bit hot, turned on the factory air and all I got was HOT air. WTF gotta fix that. My mate does air con, took it too him and found a big hole in one of the hoses on the high pressure side. Changed that out, put on some new ends on some suspect connections, gassed her up and cool as a cucumber. I was lucky that someone spent some money as it had already been changed to the new gas. That means the Corty and the Xa both have working air. Thank God. Too hot out here without it.

Aah the first Cortina I drove with a 250/4 on the floor was a TF S pack. Good car, but the front suspension didn't handle the iron block 6 very well. Nothing you couldn't fix though.

If memory serves me correctly, it had some sort of black almost foam rubber type of boot spoiler on it.

I've always wondered what a TE or TF would have been like with say an I6 out of an AU Falcon in it with a 5 speed.

The TE 'S' Pac was a limited edition of 500. It came with the black rear spoiler. It also had the iron head six. TF's have the alloy head and mine has standard height king springs, better shocks and power steer. Actually handles pretty good - within reason.

Noticed that one, but it's a bit too modded. Hopefully another will appear that hasn't had as many mod's. Have finally fitted the front and rear spoilers to the TF. They are the same as those fitted to South African Cortina XR6's. They took a bit of locating and a bit of money to get them to Oz, but they certainly set the 'S' off nicely.

NZ would be another source for those bits, although I'm guessing they're getting a bit rare these days.

NZ didn't get the 6, but they still got mk5 sport, which I guessing is visually the same as the te s pack.

That looks pretty decent, bit different to the NZ ones.

This is a kiwi one, looks to be minus the spotlight though

I'm hoping someone here can help me with a bit of a puzzle. The paint code on my Cortina's build plate is stamped 'P'. I have a Ford repair manual that lists all the colour codes, but it doesn't list a 'P' as a paint code for my model. I'm trying to find out the colour name. The colour is a beige type colour (thank god for the stripes). It is the original colour, and the colour the bloke I bought it off was supposed to be called "moonstone", which I know was Valiant colour around '74. Any idea's will be greatly appreciated.
